COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SCHOOL

The Sulphur Springs PK–8 Community Partnership School (SSPK8) is built on four key pillars: Collaborative Leadership, Student Supports, Parent and Community Engagement and Expanded Learning Opportunities. Each pillar provides programs and services designed to remove barriers to learning so that students can succeed academically and grow in character. These pillars work together and depend on one another, making collaboration and alignment essential. To support this model, the YMCA serves as the lead nonprofit partner and is fully integrated into daily school operations on the SSPK8 campus.

Student Supports focus on the physical, mental and overall well-being of students and their families.

Through on-site health services and resources like the Paw Pantry, families can access care, basic needs and additional support.

Family and Community Engagement connects families to their child’s academic success through school events, interest groups, advisory and leadership roles, volunteer opportunities and parent education. Families are also connected with community resources that help strengthen stability at home.

Expanded Learning Opportunities take place during and after the school day and include both YMCA-led and partner youth development programs. These opportunities help students strengthen academic skills through engaging, hands-on learning while also offering enrichment activities, mentorship and exposure to the arts.

Community Partnership School Impact from the 2024-2025 school year and summer include:
